As a matter of fact, Ferdinand is one of the best well known pubs in Lebanon as it has such a unique ambiance that attracts both Lebanese and foreigners. In Ferdinand you will find people from different nationalities eating, drinking and enjoying the music all together.

Ferdinand always likes to be part of the new events and the latest trends. When the owners and managers of Ferdinand pub heard about Social Media Week taking place in Beirut, they were very excited to be part of it. Moreover, it will be hosting the hospitality event on Thursday 21st of September.

Crepaway is a Lebanese restaurant with an American image, it was founded in 1984; it is a popular restaurant with a very acceptable price range; it has 14 branches all over Lebanon, a branch in Qatar and a branch in KSA.

The website was the first step towards social media; but it is something very typical and professional to any restaurant to do; for that matter in July 2009 the marketing team in Crepaway realize the need of a facebook fan page, since facebook became very trendy and Crepaway should have a certain presence to be there with the customers.

In 2 years Crepaway facebook fan page was able to have almost 23000 fans; which is a very remarquable number comparing to many other Lebanese restaurants Fanpages. Crepaway has a very unique strategy when it comes to its fan page that we can summarize by:

1-    Crepaway is an up-to-date restaurant, this is the image that it is always trying to show, the fan page strongly support it, so you can really feel and touch the Crepaway spirit in the fanpage; what brings people even closer to it.

2-    On the Crepaway fan page, they don’t only post the restaurant news but many others that interest their fans; that way the fans are never bored and they would feel that Crepaway cares about them by providing them with useful information.

3-    The competitions that they make on the page are so user friendly and fun, with very nice prizes.

4-    Crepaway answers the fans with a lot of care; we can easily recognize on their fan page how they deal with the complains and suggestions, they don’t just answer with a short sentence, in a fact they go into details they even have conversations on the wall, just to show their fans how much they care!! That’s what we call Engagement people !

5-    We can also find on the fan page a tab concerning their Iphone applications, Crepaway just knows how to adapt!

Crepaway also has a twitter account; with pretty engaging tweets! Twitter is now getting progressively popular in Lebanon and Crepaway has embraced it as part of its Social Media Strategy.

 

Zaatar w Zeit, the Lebanese restaurant with one of the highest number of fans on Facebook!

Zaatar W Zeit is a hip Lebanese baked wrap concept. Zaatar w Zeit and Facebook

Zaatar w Zeit is a restaurant that really cares about its customers; it’s a restaurant that built a very strong image, with a very unique concept; in addition to the fact that its menu changes regularly, always trying to find new ways to satisfy its customers; for that matter in October 2009 Zaatar w Zeit marketing department made a facebook fan page for the restaurant as a part of their customer service strategy.

Zaatar w Zeit was one of the first Lebanese restaurants having a facebook fanpage;  they have started this fanpage at a time when Facebook was a huge hit in Lebanon, when people were spending much time, checking profiles and pages; and with less than 2 years they have 38500 fans!! How did they do it?

1-     The timing was right when making this fanpage, people were all over facebook, uploading pictures, changing statues…

2-     Having an ad on Facebook; so people can see it and like the page; well, having an ad on facebook makes it much easier when it comes to increasing the number of fans on your page.

3-     The facebook fanpage was a support for launching the new menus and new campaigns that took place frequently and regularly; that was a very interesting point since you would never get bored from the Zaatar w Zeit fanpage; they always have something new to talk about ; something that interest their clients and keep them loyal

4-     Zaatar w Zeit Fanpage interacts a lot with its fans; in a fact if we check it right now we can see many complains and critics about the restaurant; they don’t delete the comments from the fanpage, but they answer their fans they are very open to any critic or suggestion, they discuss it with the fans, they try to get as much information as they can, to improve their service.

5-     Always online, changing statues, and responding immediately to all the wall posts and messages; this shows their care towards their clients; and people love this!!

The fanpage of Zaatar w Zeit gave them the chance to be in a one on one relationship with their clients and potential ones of course; they know what they want and they give it to them, people feel that they are dealing with a friend that really cares about them.
