A closer look at who we are – Prof. Dr. Martin Emmer
Social Media Week is a leading news platform and worldwide conference that curates and shares the best ideas and insights into social media and technology's impact on business, society, and culture.
We would like to further introduce you to our Advisory Board members, and will be rolling out the more info about them and their current projects.
Martin Emmer, professor for media and communication studies at Freie Universität Berlin. He studied communication, political science and psychology in Munich and Berlin and received in 2004 his doctoral degree from Ilmenau University of Technology (located amidst the idyllic green forests of Thuringia). For more than ten years he is now researching the effects of the Internet and digital media on the political process. In this broad field, his main interest lies on how citizens adopt the new forms of digital communication and on how these changing habits of people affect the strategies of political parties, media and other organisations.
