One of five additions to our September lineup, Seoul is one of the leading tech capitals. It was the world’s first city to introduce mobile TV and wireless broadband- and in all subway lines and buses. It can also boast the world’s fastest broadband network, at the highest penetration in the world. All making Seoul a great spot to be in this September.
To help you prepare for SMW Seoul, we talked with Eric Sungmin Kim, Project Manager, from Innoval Communications, our local city organizer.
Eric, what are the three most exciting things happening in social and mobile media in Seoul?
The number of users of social media increasing rapidly, more and more people becoming used to do it and that they get together to change our community better through social media. Many people with open-minded and susceptible to change in technologies will make SMW Seoul great.
Can you give us a peek into what to expect from Seoul for SMW12?
We want many people participate in the interesting events and get prepared in advance. None of us want a just formal and boresome conference. As we want to share those thinkers and leaders in Seoul with other cities, we are planning to make most of the events filmed and stream them.
How are you embracing the global theme of Empowering Change through Collaboration and how are you seeing that play out locally and globally?
Our local theme is “Changes in the Way of Thinking” but “Collaboration” will be the one of the most important keywords in the conference in Seoul.
