Over the next few weeks, we’ll be highlighting the teams on the ground- the ones forging the SMW and Nokia partnership. Today, we talked with Robyn Yoslow, Head of Digital and Influence/Lifestyle Marketing at Nokia Mobile Phones West Coast. She’s behind the scenes working closely with our team in SMW LA.
Robyn, how long have you been with Nokia?
Since January… as a consultant, then transitioning to employee in March.
What drew you to working with Nokia? How have you seen that evolve over the years?
Just in the last few months I’ve seen it go from an “old” brand, to a youthful, authentic and humors one.
What gets you excited about your work with Nokia?
Its intelligence, its humor, its commitment to its customers and community – participating and driving well being and dialogue for everyone – love it!
Nokia has been the major partner for SMW, with LA being a prominent city for Nokia activities. What can we expect to see from your team in LA this September and why did you decide to take part again?
Fun! Conversation! Sharing!… It give us an opportunity to play, chat and listen to the community.
To help launch SMW LA, we’re partnering with StyleSaint to host a fashion competition and a Day of Fashion. Why is LA the perfect city for this?
LA is the city of dreams, fantasy and beauty!
What are some of the coolest Nokia campaigns you’ve been a part of?
Lumia 900: Smartphone Beta Test
SMW LA is also hosting a Scavenger Hunt with your team, highlighting the mapping and social components of the Nokia phones. Can you tell us more about these features and how Nokia focuses on making your phones a truly social device?
Its the best GPS out there… the UI alone is simple and easy and the number of maps is incredible! And the best part, it gets you to where you want to go – to work, family, friends, events, new places and people – it is social!
We’ll be giving people the opportunity to try a Nokia phone during SMW. Where can our attendees do this and what does this entail?
We are giving people the opportunity to try out a Nokia with our Trial a Nokia campaign. You can go online to Trial a Lumia device, and come find us in LA during SMW where we’ll be giving out a number of devices and cool goods like Nokia Purity headsets.
