But right now, as of 2012, it has been just 22 years since the invention of the world wide web and Twitter has just turned six.Yet in the UK alone Twitter already has 10m users – and that is dwarfed by Facebook’s 39m UK users. The recent past has been exciting – but as social development accelerates, the future will be even more so.
This Pecha Kucha night will invite speakers from a variety of backgrounds to discuss how social media has impacted on their personal or professional lives – and to predict how social media, and their experience of it, might change further in the future.
