With a high premium on space and a growing concern for the environment, New Yorkers are becoming the fastest adopters of new sharing economy platforms. In this session that will launch the rapidly-growing sharing platform yerdle.com in NYC, participants will join in a group scavenger hunt to see whose social networks can locate urgently needed items by a select group of non-profits. Make sure your phone is charged and get ready to rumble!
Leaders of the collaborative consumption and sustainability movement will help lead participants in The Magical Sharing Experiment. Amongst those will be yerdle co-founder Adam Werbach, former president of the Sierra Club at age 23 and later chief sustainability officer for Saatchi & Saatchi; Eco fashion model Summer Rayne Oakes, a champion of reducing waste and consumerism in the fashion industry; and other experts and champions of the sharing movement. Reverend Billy from the Church of Stop Shopping will deliver a spirited blessing to kick things off.
