Everyday I’m Shooglin’ #smwIshoogle

Monday night saw the official opening event for Social Media Week Glasgow. The event, “Everyday I’m Shooglin” was held at the Riverside Transport Museum and was the launch party for the SPT Glasgow subway app.

Called ‘iShoogle’, the app is available on both iOS and Android and offers commuters, students, shoppers and the general public with news regarding train times and any line disruptions.

The app is also fully interactive with gamification and location based technology helping set it apart from the normal, mundane app. With the ability to check in via Facebook you can keep track of where you’ve been and where your friends have been in real time.

After a check in, you will be labelled a ‘Shoogler’ and put onto a leaderboard of ‘top shooglers’. This will show up on the app, so for example if I was leading the charts, my profile would be top of the chart as a ‘top shoogler’.

A definite must have for any regular subway rider.
