Q-TOM, the first customizable musictelevision, started in September 2009 with the aim to offer viewers the chance to listen and watch “free music” on television, choosing it with the quick turn of a dial and adapts the music-program to his personal preferences and taste.
According to your favorite music or prevailing mood, the viewer chooses from different music-channels. To further refine the music the viewer can use three dials fit his preferences –oldie or contemporary, big hits or underground, fast songs or slow ones, permitting the viewer to discover new music and new trends according to their preferences.
QTOM has been awarded by the IPTV Awards in the category “Best creation, design and usability” and by the international LOVIE Awards in “Entertainment” and “Integrated Mobile Experience: Tablet”.
Thinking into the future but still keeping in mind the pearls of music, since 07.11.2011 the legendary “Beat-Club“ is avaible on QTOM to bring a piece of German history to the viewers.
Q-TOM also allows this first: viewers can share or send music videos via Facebook or email directly from your television. You can watch QTom via Smart TV, Web and iPhone, IPad and iPod touch.
Q-TOM takes part in Social Media Week Hamburg hosting a music contest called “Du-Gross-Raus.com” with partners like Reeperbahn Festival, 917xFM and Nullzwei Studios looking for creative talents from Hamburg.
“Du-gross-raus” gave artist and bands the opportunity to submit their music videos. They had the challenge to create their own music video, showing their work to the online community.
QTOM has received round about 100 videos of different gender and styles. The system of voting is completely free. The viewers can follow the contest on Internet and choose the video they like the most. After this step, a jury formed by professionals of the music business will valuate the TOP 10 and they will decide which one wins.
The winner will perform live on stage during Social Media Week Hamburg
