SMW Global: Executive Director, SMW

Crowdcentric’s mission is help people everywhere live better, work smarter and be more productive using technology. The organization is seeking a passionate and ambitious person to join its team in New York City as Executive Director, SMW.

Since 2010 we’ve been convening hundreds of thousands of people through Social Media Week conferences and engaging millions online through the sharing of insights, trends and how-to-guides that help a growing audience understand social media’s impact on business, society and culture.

Role Description: Executive Director, SMW
This is a unique opportunity for someone who wants to gain international experience working for an exciting and fast growing company in emerging media and technology.

The Executive Director, SMW would report directly into Crowdcentric’s CEO and be responsible for day-to-day operation of the SMW platform. They will work closely with SMW’s marketing, programming and sponsorship sales teams and provide support to each Local City Organizer (LCO) across 20+ markets.

The position would ideally be based New York City, but as a global role will include work in North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific, Latin America, and Africa.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Be responsible for defining the global theme each year which serves as a programming framework for 20+ conferences
  • The recruitment and vetting of new cities with goal of expanding both SMW’s developed and developing markets
  • Overseeing the LCO onboarding process and for week-to-week operations, including leading townhalls and one-to-one check-ins with LCO’s.

Specific qualifications and skills required:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience at director level or 5 years experience in a strategic marketing/communications
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in emerging media and technology
  • Experience working internationally and with different business cultures and languages.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage projects from inception through execution
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • A hunger to learn and ability to flourish in a dynamic, high-growth, entrepreneurial environment Entrepreneurial, self-starter with hands-on approach

Role Description: Director of Marketing
This is a unique opportunity for someone who wants to gain experience working for an exciting and fast growing company in emerging media and technology.

The Director of Marketing is responsible for planning, development, and implementation of all of Crowdcentric’s marketing strategy and plans for each of its main properties including Crowdcentirc Media, BrainCandy and Social Media Week.

Reporting directly to the CEO, this role demands a candidate that is energetic, creative, entrepreneurial, and has an exceptional eye for detail. The position will be based New York City, but as a global role will include work in North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific, Latin America, and Africa.

Specific qualifications and skills required:

  • BS/BA in Marketing or Communications or related field
  • 2 years experience at director level or 5 years experience in a strategic marketing/communications or journalism role
  • Minimum of 2 years experience with data analysis and presentation
  • Ability to write/edit in a variety of writing styles, ability to draft materials on a wide range of topics, with strong editing and proofreading skills.
  • Experience with paid media and advertising
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage projects from inception through execution

SMW Global: Account Manager, Brand Partnerships

Since 2010 we’ve been convening hundreds of thousands of people through Social Media Week conferences and engaging millions online through the sharing of insights, trends and how-to-guides that help a growing audience understand social media’s impact on business, society and culture.

Role Description
Social Media Week provides unique opportunities for brands such as Nokia, Google, Microsoft, Spotify, Adobe and social publishers such as BuzzFeed to connect and engage with a global audience of hyper-connected influencers through collaborative teamwork with the SMW team.

We’re looking for an dedicated, energetic, outside-the-box thinker & do-er to join the Social Media Week (SMW) team as an Account Manager, Brand Partnerships.

The role will focus on executing brand deliverables and will include creative strategy, community outreach and engagement, advocacy and blogger outreach, social media management, event design, planning and execution.

Being creative, organized, driven, personable and a good problem-solver is crucial to the role. This position will be based in NYC and will run for eight weeks, beginning August 3.

Responsibilities include:

  • Executional support to VP of Client Services, Executive Director, and Sales Manager
  • Coordinate & execute upon sponsorship deliverables and sponsor-related projects for the Social Media Week London conference, including:
    • Organizing and keeping minutes for calls & meetings, virtually and in-person
    • Brainstorm event and campaign ideas
    • Liase with key clients & partners
    • Planning event sessions with Programming & Production teams
    • Securing speakers
    • Coordinating with Communications team on client announcements including tweets, facebook updates etc.
    • Working with Design & Production teams to coordinate client branding
  • Assist VP of Client Services in coordinating and executing deliverables for global sponsors and partners across all September SMW cities
  • Assist in production during Social Media Week as needed
  • Manage outreach and follow-up with sponsors and partners post-conference, including preparing post-event wrap up reports

We’re also looking for:

  • an open mind and flexible attitude toward problem-solving
  • passion for new technology and devices
  • previous experience in client management
  • good writing skills
  • a good understanding of social networking and major web applications such Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other
    knowledge of WordPress back-end management a plus
  • familiarity with “Office”-type applications (Powerpoint, Excel, Word, etc)

Role Description: Content Strategists
This is a unique opportunity for someone who wants to gain experience working for an exciting and fast growing company in emerging media and technology.

The Director of Content Strategy will work across the client strategy, sales and production teams to plan and create the content on behalf of it’s branded content clients, including Microsoft.

Reporting to the VP of Client Services, this role demands a candidate that is creative, resourceful with exceptional written communication and storytelling abilities. The position will be based New York City, but as Crowdcentric’s audiences are global, an understanding of producing content for international markets is essential.

Specific responsibilities:

  • Lead ideation, concepting and the development of ideas which can be presented to the client as part of a pitch process, or during the execution phase of the project.
  • Ability to work seamlessly across multiple content standards and emerging platforms and channels, including Facebook, YouTube. Instagram, Vine and Snapchat.
  • Plan and execute and manage the entire production phase of content delivery, including working with and managing the research, video production, editing, motion graphics and design process.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years working with content for web or mobile experiences
  • Experience with social products and emerging technology is preferred
  • BS/BA in Marketing or related field
  • Experience in creating content for multiple interfaces including mobile
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage projects from inception through execution
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

Crowdcentric Media: Director of Brand Strategy

Crowdcentric Media is seeking a passionate and ambitious person to join its team in New York City as Director of Marketing.

Role Description: Director of Brand Strategy
The Director of Marketing and Business Development will develop and implement effective strategies for growth across all of Crowdcentric business functions.

Reporting directly to the CEO, this role demands a candidate that is energetic, entrepreneurial, and driven by their desire to make a significant impact on Crowdcentric’s business.

The position will be based New York City, but will also cover Europe, Asia-Pacific, Latin America, Africa and other parts of North America.

Specific responsibilities include:

Marketing Strategy

  • Design, implement, and facilitate annual global marketing plan across all Crowdcentric business functions
  • Work with Director of Communications to develop content strategy for online and offline marketing materials (i.e. web, sales collateral) and develop media relations opportunities to meet business objectives
  • Define and execute marketing campaigns in support of Crowdcentric’s business objectives
  • Includes client and prospect information, mailing list applications, access to financial reports, etc

Partnerships

  • Negotiate with and secure media, marketing and community partnerships across targeted industry verticals
  • Identify new partnerships which further support business growth and commercial financial return
  • Develop promotional materials including marketing collateral to share with partners

Business Development

  • Assisting team in strategic planning for client presentations and pitches
  • Analyze, prioritize and develop business opportunities with associations, organizations and/or partnerships that can be leveraged effectively to drive customer growth or differentiated offerings

Specific qualifications and skills required

Summer Internship Program

The Role
Social Media Week is a leading news platform and worldwide conference that curates and shares the best ideas, innovations and insights into how social media and technology are changing business, society and culture around the world. We also reimagine how human connectivity and technology will come together to change the ways we live, work and create. Along with Social Media Week, our agency, Crowdcentric, creates experiential, editorial, and marketing programs on behalf of major brands and clients.

Editorial
Through SMW we cover news stories, emerging trends, entertainment, culture and the role of technology in human connectivity, and more This aspect of the role will require the person to research article ideas, find external articles to re-publish and write original content.

Marketing
Support the Marketing and Communications department with responsibilities and efforts such as creating newsletters, social media and content marketing, developing media partnerships, and reporting analytics and insights.

Sales and Sponsorship
Identify potential new business opportunities through research, client outreach, sales deck development, and partnership outreach. You’ll receive a behind-the-scenes look into how branded content and on-site conference activation deals are arranged, planned, and executed, both online and offline.

  • Ability to brainstorm and identify sponsorship opportunities around existing and new business initiatives
