Registration Open for London Events

It’s a testament to how much social media has infiltrated both our professional and social lives, to see the breadth of events already confirmed for London’s Social Media Week.

Check out the full schedule and don’t forget to RSVP for each event directly (unfortuntely, you can’t confirm using the SCHED application alone). And the best bit is that most of the events are free, or at very low cost.

On Monday, we’ll announce and open registration for two more panels, on Monday, Optimising Your Social Graph (sponsored by Meebo and hosted at the IAB), looking at how the media and brands can scale their communications with consumers across such a wide variety of social tools and networks. There’s a spot of lunch and networking planned afterwards.

And on Tue, Chinwag Live returns with a re-visit of the popular panel, Measuring Social Media exploring the golden goose of ROI, metrics and discovering how much has changed in the last year, what’s been learnt and where next. Keep your eyes peeled for more info on both of these.

The IAB are hosting a panel debate, “The Importance of Picking Your Battles Online” on Wed afternoon and Local Social Summit are looking at the Science of Social Media with speakers from the Oxford Internet Institute and the UK’s favourite Twittering coffee retailer, @hasbean on Thu evening.

On the social side, there’s lots planned, too. With a very special opening night event on Monday 1st (details soon), to a range of social gathering of all types from the Twespians to Recruiters and on Friday morning, the legendary Tuttle Club.

There’s also three great PR briefings on Wed morning, with top firms 33 Digital, Porter Novelli and Speed Communications throwing open their doors and welcoming all-comers to hear case studies and expert opinions on reputation management.

And there’s more coming, so make sure you’ve carved out some space in your diary for Social Media Week, London from 1st – 5th Feb.

If you’re planning an event, want to volunteer, have a venue available for use or are looking to get involved as a sponsor, it’s not too late. Drop us a line to get involved.

    Hi there,

I am a student at the University of the West of England, Bristol. I am coming to London on the 3rd February for an interview with a social media company, and they have told me that on the afternoon of my interview, they are heading to your conference.

As a student and a non member, I can’t really afford the £99 non members fee to attend, especially with the travel costs on top.

I thought I’d contact you and see if it was possible to gain entry to the conference on a one off basis without charge? If I can’t then it isn’t an problem, but I would love to attend, and if there is the opportunity to do this then I would love to go.

I look forward to hearing from you.

    Best Regards

    Andrew

@andrew That particular event is being hosted by one of Social Media Week’s partners, the IAB. It’d be worth dropping them a line to see if it’d be possible to RSVP a place. I’ll drop them a line, too.

We’re also hoping to have another couple of events happening on the Wed, although they’re not confirmed yet, so even if you can’t make it along to that event, there’ll be events with free entry available, too.
