Inventive gadgetry pops up every day and Mashable reports there’s one that’s a 1000 watt idea. The Atlantic‘s new mobile-first business publication, Quartz, is set to launch next month and they’ve found a way to attract people to their Twitter feed. If you mention @quartznews on twitter, the Quartz newsroom literally lights up.
This may not be the first networking agent that gives light to some new ideas (or is it?), but it’s definitely worthy of mention. Many people are catching onto the idea of connecting gadgets to the internet or a wireless network. Quartz senior editor Zach Seward connected a Belkin WeMo Switch to the web-based service ifttt (“if this, then that”).
Some Jersey Mikes have a bell they ring every time money is placed in the tip jar. And if you’ve been to the new local bowling alley, chances are you’ll find they’re having a “tweetfest” that trades discounted games for tweets. As The Atlantic pushes toward making Quartz more interactive and engaging, the light up idea has more merit than ever before.
