New developments in Crowdfunding are being hotly debated by business startups and policymakers in Washington, but social good organizations are just starting to figure out how best to use this new fundraising platform. This workshop and discussion of the latest developments in Crowdfunding for nonprofit cause advocates will be led by top crowdfunding pioneers and social sector users.

Participants will gain knowledge of best practices and “the Top Five Mistakes Nonprofits need to avoid.” This hands-on, interactive presentation (part of the NYU Heyman Center’s 2013 Speaker Series) is designed to present solid takeaways to attendees contemplating their own crowdfunding initiatives. Following a discussion, participants will break into groups with panel experts.

The session will run from 6-8p at the NYU Welcome Center Auditorium, 50 West 4th Street, on NYU’s Washington Square Campus. Light refreshments will be served.
