Viacom’s Music and Entertainment Group (MTV, VH1, CMT, Logo and other networks) and MTV Insights will present a two-hour event for Social Media Week attendees and invited guests on “The Future of Social Media Interaction Between Fans and Entertainers.”
The event will kick off with a networking cocktail hour where author and tech guru Shelly Palmer will be on-hand to discuss and sign copies of his new book, “Digital Wisdom: Thought Leadership for a Connected World,” before opening the night. Attendees will then have the opportunity to hear from MTV Insights on ”zero distancing between fan and artist,” followed by a quick panel of 5 super fans who will talk about how they engage with celebs and how they think artists or celebs could engage with fans in the future.
Following the cocktail hour, the main panel presentation moderated by Natan Edelsburg from Lost Remote will feature talent from some of Viacom’s most successful shows including MTV’s “Catfish: The TV Show”, VH1’s “Mob Wives” and more discussing how social media has drastically changed the ways that television stars communicate with their fans and each other, as well as examine how this is likely to continue to evolve in the immediate future.
This is the first time Viacom will be bringing this eclectic group of talent together to discuss how they integrate social in their everyday lives, while also revealing social TV show strategies from the stars themselves.
