Toby started Social Media Week as a means to explore how technology is changing the way we connect and communicate. In his spare time, he likes to run marathons, scuba dive, snowboard, travel and surf (sort of).

Before joining Crowdcentric, Nicky Yates led communications and community engagement in the non-profit sector for 4 years with organizations like charity: water and the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. Nicky is a fan of travel, running marathons in different countries, the beach, psychology, and brunch.

Brian Leddy is COO of Crowdcentric and operations director of Social Media Week. Web entrepreneur with 7 years experience in equity research and operations at Pequot Capital Management. Co-Founded Citiology, a social network focused on NYC nightlife. Enjoys hoops, softball, squash, tennis, ping pong and everything 80’s.
Global Director, Social Media Week, and VP, Crowdcentric
Ben Scheim is vice president at Crowdcentric, responsible for sponsorship, media partnerships, and communications. Previously he was manager of the Paley Center for Media’s International Council conferences, a private biannual CEO-level meeting of global media heads. Ben loves music, biking, and technology, and strives to live within a happy cross-section of seriousness and laughter.
ZACH SMITH
Finance Director, Social Media Week and CFO and CRO, Crowdcentric
Zach Smith is Chief Financial Officer and Chief Revenue Officer of Crowdcentric. Prior to Crowdcentric, he advised companies and investors for 10 years in Derivatives, Corporate Finance and M&A at Citi and Merrill Lynch. Rumors of Zach’s love for Tex-Mex and photography have been greatly under-exaggerated.
JESSICA LAWRENCE
Programming Advisor, Social Media Week New York
In addition to her work with Social Media Week, Jessica Lawrence is the Managing Director of NY Tech Meetup, the world’s largest meetup and a non-profit dedicated to supporting New York’s technology industry. She is also a TEDx organizer, speaker, and columnist. Previously, Jessica was a CEO for the Girl Scouts in Southern California. She is an avid baker and general fan of any pastry product.
Programming Director, Social Media Week New York
Brian Quinn has produced consumer events for the past 5 years, working for a wide range of companies in the culinary, tech, and corporate worlds, including GroupMe, Michelin Guide, Pernod Ricard, Georges Duboeuf, Moleskine, and others. He has also played the drums for 20 years, produced concerts for 10 years, makes delicious cocktails regularly, and is recognized for founding a groundbreaking supper club in NYC.
Programming & Production Manager, Social Media Week New York
Ryan Thompson spent 4 years in Los Angeles working in Media Management and Film & TV production before teaming up with Crowdcentric. He has worked closely with several media companies including Dick Clark Productions, Funny or Die and Tubefilter. He also played an active role in the programming and production of SMWLA 2012. An Oklahoma native and a bit of a thrill seeker, he enjoys the outdoors, taking the road less traveled and cooking.

Prior to joining SMW, Giorgia has worked for Personal Democracy Media, an organization that helps nurture a world-wide conversation about technology’s impact on government, politics, and society. Before coming to NYC she worked in fashion, healthcare and for the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and moved between Milan, Paris, Madrid. She spends an inordinate time reading about technology, culture and food. Now a beta New Yorker, she calls Williamsburg home where she very much enjoys wandering about the Sunday morning flea markets in skinny American jeans, Italian leather boots and typically a huge coffee.
