Social Media Week is a worldwide event exploring the social, cultural and economic impact of social media. Our mission is to help people and organizations connect through collaboration, learning and the sharing of ideas and information.
Our last Social Media Week in September proved to be a great success, with participation from more than 30,000 attendees, across 980 individually hosted events and with 2,000 speakers driving the conversation in 13 cities. Together, we reached hundreds of thousands of people in more than 180 countries. In February 2012, Social Media Week saw more than 36,000 attendees, across 1,000 events and with 2,500 speakers driving the conversation in 12 cities.
We saw notable speakers like Senior Advisor for Innovation to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton Alec Ross; Venture Investor Jalak Jobanputra; founder & CEO of Tumblr David Karp; Paul Adams, Global Brand Experience Manager of Facebook; singer and actor Nick Jonas; Google Brazil’s CEO Fabio Coelho; Jeff Berman of the NFL; Caroline Drucker of Etsy; Troy Carter of Atom Management; and Beverly Jackson of the Grammy Awards. This coming February is poised to surpass even that, taking place in 10 cities around the world. We are excited to have you be a part!
“Social Media Week does not disappoint. It is a real-world manifestation of some of the best that new technology has to offer – ideas, strategies and insights shared by the people who are shaping the future.” Ellen McGirt, Senior Writer, Fast Company
