About Danny Robinson:
Danny has been an early stage technology entrepreneur for over 15 years. Presently, he is the Co-Founder and CEO of Perch.co, a video communication product that enables you to connect and share all of life’s moments, as they happen with the people who matter the most. Prior to co-founding Perch, Danny was the CEO of BCIC, a crown corporation dedicated to promoting entrepreneurship and innovation in the province of British Columbia. Previously, he was Co-Founder of Bootup Labs, the first seed accelerator in Vancouver, which invested in 8 companies including Summify (acquired by Twitter). In addition, he co-founded Bootup Entrepreneurial Society – a community and mentor driven non-profit organization that promoted BC’s Internet technology sector, helped launch over 95 companies and organized 100 startups events including the popular Launch Party series and Launch @ GROW opening reception.
Prior to Bootup, Danny co-founded Strutta, a social marketing promotions platform that enables brands like Crate & Barrel, Johnson & Johnson and Men’s Health to identify, listen and engage with their most influential customers. Before Strutta, Danny was co-founder and Chairman of Peerflix, an on-line P2P DVD trading company and Chairman and CEO of Spinway, Inc., a pioneer technology company that developed ecommerce and private-label ISP solutions for leading brick and mortar retailers. Under his stewardship, Spinway grew to 8 million registered users in 11 months and was later sold to United Online (NetZero).
Danny also serves on the Board of Directors for Strutta, Suite 101 and is Co-Founder of OpsKwan, a SaaS based medical platform for tracking orthopaedic assets. In his spare time, he enjoys exploring beautiful BC, downhill skiing, and hanging out with his wife and two children.
