One of the worlds greatest internet thinkers – Doc Searls – will join us at Capital One Labs to share a keynote presentation based on his recent work on The Intention Economy: When Free Customers Prove More Valuable Than Captive Ones.
Searls is widely known as a vibrant and inspirational speaker, and this cutting edge presentation will be no different. This will be a chance to hear his latest thoughts on customer driven interaction, the role of big data, and the changing role of marketing.
Searls is the author of The Intention Economy: When Customers Take Charge (Harvard Business Review Press, 2012), and co-author of The Cluetrain Manifesto: The End of Business as Usual (Basic Books, 2000, 2010).
He is also Senior Editor of Linux Journal, a fellow at the Center for Information Technology & Society at UC Santa Barbara, and founder of ProjectVRM at the Berkman Center for Internet & Society at Harvard University, where he served as a fellow from 2006 to 2010. Currently, he is a visiting scholar at the Arthur L. Carter Journalism Institute at NYU.
The keynote will include a QnA, and will be followed by a musical happy hour and the February meet of RefreshDC*.
* If you would like to stay for RefreshDC, please be sure to RSVP separately for that event.
