Everyone, even those who are not able to attend the Tweet-up, is invited to take part in a week-long #green photo contest on Instagram. Submissions open 2/13 at 10 a.m. (EST) and close 2/20 at 5 p.m. Throughout the week, spend time outside in DC to find some of the great landscapes and green spaces the city has to offer. Not sure where to go? ASLA recently released the Landscape Architect’s Guide to DC, featuring dozens of great green spaces in the District. Upload your photos Instagram using the event hashtag #smwGREEN. We will announce the winning photos at the networking event and on Twitter.
The Live Tweetup will be a great chance for people either currently working the green industry or those with an interest in it to meet others who work for the same cause. This will be a free event where we will be able to have a great discussion on best social media techniques when promoting a pro-environment message.
New to social media? We will be able to help you set up your own Twitter accounts, Instagram accounts, etc – we’ll teach you anything you want to learn.
New to green living? We will provide some handouts and hopefully spur a great city-/world-wide conversation that can change the way people look at environmental design, sustainability and green living.
As an added incentive (and to start you on the right track with their green living!) we will offer door prizes or handouts, such as reusable bags, T-shirts, water bottles, and so on throughout the event!
This event is great for any social media user, beginner or otherwise, who has an interest in green issues such as sustainability, green living, etc.
If you have any questions about the event, don’t hesitate to contact us. This is a great chance to meet people with an interest in both social media and green issues. So come over, grab a drink, and make some friends (or Twitter pen-pals, perhaps?)
