For the 7th year running straight, Washington, DC, was the most popular place to move. As the city grows, the need for better information and communication between city officials and residents has increased. To fill that need, a smattering of local blogs, Twitter feeds and smartphone apps have become vital resources for residents in the know, while creating an ad hoc information ecosystem in the nation’s capital. This roundtable discussion will bring together a range of perspectives from city employees who manage official city Twitter feeds, to local bloggers sharing the best in arts and culture, to discuss the city’s changing information and communications needs and the best way for technology and media platforms to meet the capital’s unique demands.
