The question is often asked, “What is the formula for success in social media campaigns for social good?” Unlike baking, in which success comes from precisely following the recipe each time, social media is iterative – like cooking. The next successful campaign will never exactly follow the “recipe” of the last one. Each new initiative requires creative, original ideas – and some hard work over the stove — to succeed. This session will study recent successful campaigns (pulling from movements such as #GivingTuesday, Million Moms Challenge and others) to learn how strategists go about developing the next recipe for social media success.
This session is targeted at DC Social Media Week participants who wish to improve their own social good campaigns, and those who are looking to start new, exciting campaigns that create social movements for positive social change.
The session will also include a networking opportunity as well as a panel discussion.
