Executive Director

Role Description

This is a unique opportunity for someone who has a passion for emerging media and technology.

The Executive Director, SMW would report directly into Crowdcentric’s CEO and be responsible for SMW’s editorial strategy, conference programming and content partnerships.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Defining and communicating the global theme each year which serves as a programming framework for all SMW conferences
  • The development and implementation of SMW’s content framework which underpins how we program all of our flagship conferences
  • Outreach to high level speakers, content partners with the aim of securing their participation for future conferences
  • Providing support and input to speakers and content partners with the aim of helping to craft their individual sessions during the conference
  • Coming up with session ideas which we lead or that we invite others to host

Specific qualifications and skills required

  • Minimum of 5 years experience at director level or 5 years experience in a strategic marketing/communications
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in emerging media and technology
  • Experience working internationally and with different business cultures and languages
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage projects from inception through execution
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • A hunger to learn and ability to flourish in a dynamic, high-growth, entrepreneurial environment Entrepreneurial, self-starter with hands-on approach

Head of Marketing

Role Description

This is a unique opportunity for someone who wants to work in an exciting and fast growing company at the intersection of media, marketing and technology.

The Head of Marketing is a data-driven professional who will be responsible for planning, development, and implementation Social Media Week’s marketing strategy and plans for each of its main properties including Social Media Week Conferences, SMW.news and SMW Insider.

Reporting directly to the CEO, this role demands a candidate that is analytically minded, creative, entrepreneurial, and has an exceptional eye for detail. The position will be based New York City.

Specific responsibilities include developing the strategy and plan for:

Specific qualifications and skills required

  • BS/BA in Marketing or Communications or related field.
  • 2 years experience at director level or 5 years experience in a strategic marketing/communications or journalism role.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience with data analysis and presentation.
  • Ability to write/edit in a variety of writing styles, ability to draft materials on a wide range of topics, with strong editing and proofreading skills.
  • Experience with paid media and advertising.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage projects from inception through execution.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Account Manager

Role Description

The Account Manager role will focus on executing partner brand deliverables and will include creative strategy, community outreach and engagement, social media management, event design, planning and execution.

We’re looking for an dedicated, energetic, outside-the-box thinker & do-er. Being creative, organized, driven, personable and a good problem-solver is crucial to the role. This position will be based in New York City.

Specific responsibilities include

  • Executional support to VP of Sales, Executive Director, and COO
  • Coordinate & execute upon sponsorship deliverables and sponsor-related projects for the Social Media Week flagship conferences, including:
    • Organizing and keeping minutes for calls & meetings, virtually and in-person
      Brainstorm event and campaign ideas
    • Liaise with key clients & partners
    • Planning event sessions with Programming & Production (Sales Execution teams)
    • Organizing and keeping minutes for calls & meetings, virtually and in-person
      Brainstorm event and campaign ideas
    • Coordinating with Communications team on client announcements including tweets, facebook updates etc.
    • Working with Design & Production teams to coordinate client branding
  • Assist in production during Social Media Week as needed
  • Manage outreach and follow-up with sponsors and partners post-conference, including preparing post-event wrap up reports

Specific qualifications and skills required

  • Previous experience of working in a commercial / client facing environment required. (2 – 3 years experience preferred)
  • Practical sponsorship account management/activation experience at events
  • Excellent understanding and experience of management of sponsorship contracts
  • Project management experience is advantageous with clear evidence of delivery within structured timescales.
  • an open mind and flexible attitude toward problem-solving
  • passion for new technology and innovation in mobile and social media

We are looking to hire in a full-time capacity. The compensation package will be made up of a base salary, plus a bonus based on & team performance.

Customer Success Manager

Role Description

The Customer Success Manager role will focus on maximize the value our customers/attendees can gather from participating in our flagship conferences.

We’re looking for an dedicated, energetic, outside-the-box thinker & do-er. Being creative, organized, driven, personable and a good problem-solver is crucial to the role. This position will be based in New York City.

Specific responsibilities include

  • Coach and motivate our customers/attendees to get the most out of our conference on video product experiences
  • Support our customers/attendees in effectively navigating our product experiences by illustrating the value created from our product offering
  • Build personalized relationships with customers/attendees through various channels (Face to face, Social Media, Event Execution, Phone/WhatsApp and email)
  • Manage all attendee communication channels for upcoming flagship conference
  • Manage attendee surveys: distribution, results & reporting
  • Cooperate closely with Sales Managers to increase customer lifetime value (cross-selling, up-selling) and increase year over year retention.
  • Manage Customer Service and inbound email leads

Specific qualifications and skills required

  • Previous experience of working in a commercial / client facing environment required. (2 – 3 years experience preferred), ideally in a B2B environment
  • Genuine “can-do” attitude and superb customer service skills on the phone and face-to-face

Audience Development Associate

Role Description

Our Audience Development team is responsible for driving ticketing and subscription revenue by engaging professionals and organizations in our industry who are interested in attending SMW conferences or subscribing to our SMW Insider video streaming platform.

Reporting directly to the COO, Audience Development team members are highly driven, results orientated and passionate about social media, marketing and communications. They are outstanding communicators and are equally comfortable engaging with prospects on on the phone, by email or in-person.

Specific responsibilities include

  • Prospecting: Search for and identify new prospects based on specific criteria using LinkedIn and other prospecting tools
  • Outreach: Set up, manage and execute direct outreach campaigns to prospect list
  • Engagement: Respond to inquiries and responses and convert prospects by email, phone and in some circumstances in-person

Specific qualifications and skills required

  • Min 1 years professional work experience, ideally in a sales, marketing or customer facing role
  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

Editorial

Through SMW we cover news stories, emerging trends, entertainment, culture and the role of technology in human connectivity, and more This aspect of the role will require the person to research article ideas, find external articles to re-publish and write original content.

Marketing

Support the Marketing and Communications department with responsibilities and efforts such as creating newsletters, social media and content marketing, developing media partnerships, and reporting analytics and insights.

Sales and Sponsorship

Identify potential new business opportunities through research, client outreach, sales deck development, and partnership outreach. You’ll receive a behind-the-scenes look into how branded content and on-site conference activation deals are arranged, planned, and executed, both online and offline.

  • Ability to brainstorm and identify sponsorship opportunities around existing and new business initiatives
