Manager of Community and Content Marketing

Role Description

This is a unique opportunity for someone who wants to gain experience and quickly advance within a fast paced and highly dynamic company.

The Manager of Community and Content Marketing works within the team that is responsible for content creation, community management, campaign execution and audience development on social media.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Content Marketing: Create graphical assets, images, copy and maintain standards across all social channels and campaigns
  • Email Marketing: Content creation, campaign execution and reporting
  • Social Media: Content creation, audience engagement and reporting
  • Community Management: Community outreach and engagement across all channels including social media, Slack, WhatsApp and our proprietary channels

The Director of Sales must also have a passion for digital marketing, including social media marketing, content marketing, and emerging technology, and be relentlessly persistent, a true collaborator with a magnetic personality.

Specific qualifications and skills required:

  • Degree in Marketing, Communications or related field
  • Minimum of 2 years professional work experience in a role focused on creation, execution and reporting on social media or digital marketing
  • Ability to write/edit in a variety of writing styles, ability to draft materials on a wide range of topics, with strong editing and proofreading skills.
  • Experience with photoshop, illustrator or other image creation and manipulation tools
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to handle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Experience with analytics for email, social media and Google analytics
  • Experience with WordPress and HTML a plus
  • A hunger to learn and ability to flourish in a dynamic, high-growth, entrepreneurial environment

Existing Business:

  • Grow revenue through increasing average size of the contract and by securing multi-city and multi-year deals
  • Ensure we retain a minimum of 70% of existing sponsors

Specific qualifications and skills required:

  • BS/BA degree preferred
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a mid-senior level sales role
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • A hunger to learn and ability to flourish in a dynamic, high-growth, entrepreneurial environment

Director of Sponsorship Sales

Role Description

The Director of Sponsorship Sales is responsible for identifying and closing new and existing sponsor relationships for SMW’s flagship program of conferences, which includes SMW New York, SMW LA, and SMW London.

The role requires the following experience:

  • Proven track record in initiating and closing new business
  • Deep industry relationships with senior decision-makers in Mar-Tech and digital marketing
  • Understanding and experience in event operations and sponsorship activation
  • Experience using sales automation and CRM tools
  • Ability to create sales reports and manage tracking and analytics

Responsibilities:

New Business:

  • Develop and execute a strategy for how to grow sponsorship revenues by 20% in 2020
  • Manage prospecting, lead generation, and pipeline sales process
  • Identify clients needs and objectives and consultative present and sell package solutions

Existing Business:

Audience Development Associate

Role Description

Our Audience Development team is responsible for driving ticketing and subscription revenue by engaging professionals and organizations in our industry who are interested in attending SMW conferences or subscribing to our SMW Insider video streaming platform.

Reporting directly to the COO, Audience Development team members are highly driven, results orientated and passionate about social media, marketing and communications. They are outstanding communicators and are equally comfortable engaging with prospects on on the phone, by email or in-person.

Specific responsibilities include

  • Prospecting: Search for and identify new prospects based on specific criteria using LinkedIn and other prospecting tools
  • Outreach: Set up, manage and execute direct outreach campaigns to prospect list
  • Engagement: Respond to inquiries and responses and convert prospects by email, phone and in some circumstances in-person

Specific qualifications and skills required

  • Min 1 years professional work experience, ideally in a sales, marketing or customer facing role
  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • A hunger to learn and ability to flourish in a dynamic, high-growth, entrepreneurial environment
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage projects from inception through execution
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

Package

We are looking to hire in a full-time capacity. The compensation package will be made up of a base salary, plus a bonus based on team performance.

Editorial

Through SMW we cover news stories, emerging trends, entertainment, culture and the role of technology in human connectivity, and more This aspect of the role will require the person to research article ideas, find external articles to re-publish and write original content.

Marketing

Support the Marketing and Communications department with responsibilities and efforts such as creating newsletters, social media and content marketing, developing media partnerships, and reporting analytics and insights.

Sales and Sponsorship

Identify potential new business opportunities through research, client outreach, sales deck development, and partnership outreach. You’ll receive a behind-the-scenes look into how branded content and on-site conference activation deals are arranged, planned, and executed, both online and offline.

  • Someone who understands how content builds a loyal, organic audience.
  • Ability to brainstorm and identify sponsorship opportunities around existing and new business initiatives
  • Sense of (Internet) humor is a plus!
