SMW, Nokia & Fashion: Show Us Your City Style
Social Media Week is a leading news platform and worldwide conference that curates and shares the best ideas and insights into social media and technology's impact on business, society, and culture.
Coco Chanel once said, “Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening.”
Our lives influence our style, and with our lives increasingly evolving with emerging technology and social media, we can’t help but think that it’s having a stronger impact than ever before on our everyday style.
This year, Social Media Week and Nokia are coming together to celebrate fashion in two ways (details on each below):
1) Launching a contest with StyleSaint called Concrete Jungle filled with awesome prizes
2) Hosting SMW Fashion Days in Los Angeles, London and Jeddah
For Concrete Jungle, we and our friends at Nokia have partnered with StyleSaint to launch a contest letting each of you showcase your unique sense of style. Up until now, StyleSaint has been the go-to resource for all things style, with global bloggers, influencers, and tastemakers alike crafting their own inspired StyleBooks, then sharing them with the world via their personal style blogs, Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest. Now, they’re on to the next big thing, launching their first ever mobile app in conjunction with Nokia during SMW.
Why are we so excited? Well, the StyleSaint app goes above and beyond, delivering the one of the coolest fashion communities, go-to guides on how to style the latest trends, lessons in pairing, and expert DIY tutorials straight to your phone.
To celebrate this launch, we want to give you a unique opportunity to show us how your city influences your style. For Concrete Jungle, you can create a virtual StyleBook on StyleSaint highlighting your style. StyleSaint makes this easy- all you have to do is drag and drop images to showcase your favorite items and style. And the benefits are big. In addition to expressing your fashion sense, we’ll be giving away more than $4,500 worth of prizes, including a trip to Los Angeles for SMW LA.
How to Enter:
1. Join StyleSaint. On their platform, create a stylebook that’s inspired by your city. Include your city’s name in the title of your stylebook
2. Tweet your stylebook link with the hashtag #MyConcreteJungle between August 24, 2012 and September 14, 2012 at 6pm EST
Three stylebooks will be selected as winners by our expert panel with StyleSaint founder Allison Beal, and two stylebooks will be chosen by the StyleSaint community members. Each winner will receive a $500 Visa Gift Card, a Nokia Lumia 900 with first access to the StyleSaint app, along with guest editorial positions on both StyleSaint and SMW. One grand prize winner will win a trip to SMW LA.
SMW Fashion Days
In conjunction with Concrete Jungle, we are giving fashion the front stage at SMW this September. In LA, London, and Jeddah we’ll be hosting Fashion Days with our global partner Nokia, who will be supporting with awesome content, devices giveaways and an amazing afterparty. Bringing you top brands and leaders in style, we’ll be breaking down how social media and new technologies are helping the fashion industry evolve .
