Brazil on the Rise: Start-up Investments and Business
Social Media Week is a leading news platform and worldwide conference that curates and shares the best ideas and insights into social media and technology's impact on business, society, and culture.
Today, TechCrunch Disrupt in San Francisco launches a unique element- a full Brazilian Pavilion with 38 promising startup businesses. Brazil has become a major focus in the business and tech world, particularly for its large market and knack for innovation.
While Brazil may not be the next Silicon Valley, it is a burgeoning city of innovation and business. With this being the main focus on conversation today, businesses will discuss the regional aspects of working in Brazil. Kicking off tonight, September 13th at The Barrel House in San Francisco, our local organizers, Six Pix with founder Bob Wollheim, will help launch “Startupi Con: Valley Meets Brazil.”
Featured participants include Anderson Thees of Redpoint e.ventures; Michael Nicklas of Ideiasnet; Felipe Matsunaga of RBS Digital; Bedy Yang from 500 Startups; Felipe Matos of Startup Farm; and Flavio Pripas of Fashion.me.
The event starts at 7pm. Entry is free, and there will be drinks and networking after the presentations. Learn more and if you’re there, make sure to give Bob a great SMW hello!
