SMW12 in Rewind: Introducing our Official Correspondents
Social Media Week is a leading news platform and worldwide conference that curates and shares the best ideas and insights into social media and technology's impact on business, society, and culture.
SMW12 gets bigger and bigger each time. This September, we’re seeing over 1000 events take place in 13 cities around the globe. Yesterday, three of our cities made trending topics, with #SMW12 trending globally.
There’s so much happening- but as the (in)famous lyrics sing, we don’t want to miss a thing.
So, this September, we searched for the four best people to help us do it all. These four Official Correspondents will be covering different categories of events each day to recap the best and most interesting from the day. So, we- and you- don’t have to miss anything. Please meet Beckie, Sally, Delesia and Joyce.
Beckie Stravers is a New Yorker, blogger in chief at Cubicle57.com, and a social media pusher at MakeYourMediaSocial.com. She loves tweets and the internet, and hopes to see you around the world wide web.
Delesia Watson is in her first year of graduate school at New York University, studying Public Relations and Corporate Communication. Delesia believes social media has largely impacted the way people all over the world communicate, and when used properly, can contribute to building sustaining relationships and a global society. Delesia loves a good read, pageantry, traveling and bargain shopping. You can catch her online at @deleesh and on her blog.
Sally O’Dowd is a VP and head of the social media team at DiGennaro Communications, a firm specializing in corporate communications for ad agencies, media-buying concerns and entertainment companies. You can follow her at @sallyodowd and her work at @digennaro.
Joyce Sullivan is a recognized industry expert in social media networking through emerging social media networking tools. A financial services industry veteran, Joyce speaks frequently on the convergence of social media and the financial services industry. She’s been recognized for her social media networking expertise through seminars, and you can watch Joyce’s interview with CNBC anchor and journalist, Maria Bartiromo, on career reinvention and the use of social media networking on “Wall Street Journal Report with Maria Bartiromo.” Keep up with her online and on Twitter personally at @JoyceMSullivan or her work @SocMediaFin.
