Many of you have been attending Social Media Week for a few years now, and are familiar with who we are. Some of you, this February will mark the first time you take part in our global conversation. Over the years, we’ve built our identity around being the platform to explore the social, cultural and economic impact of social media. We do this through our biannual conferences, through education, collaborative projects and sharing ideas. And one of our biggest focuses is making it as frictionless as possible. So, we partner with organizations and brands to make it easy for you to take part, through livestreaming events to keeping more than 75% of our worldwide events free to increasing access to learning. No partner has been more active and prominent than Nokia.
For the third consecutive time, Nokia will be the force behind SMW13. Nokia’s focus on thought leadership, innovation and B2B efforts to work smarter are a perfect fit for all that SMW is. Over the past two years, we’ve seen Nokia power secret rooms and silent dance parties, enable social experiments like Can Man Survive on Social Media Alone, forge the bridge between social media and sports with NokiaxBurton, tackle fashion with their SMW Fashion Days, and make a lasting impact by sending 25 youth to Summer Tech Camp.

And this February, our partnership will only get bigger. Nokia again is powering our mobile app (available February 1!) and SMW Live experiences, expanding the reach of SMW beyond our 10 host cities. Focusing efforts in Lagos, NYC, Milan and Copenhagen, our partnership with Nokia will provide you more opportunities to take part physically this SMW13.
