What is “The Future Of Now”?
Social Media Week is a leading news platform and worldwide conference that curates and shares the best ideas and insights into social media and technology's impact on business, society, and culture.
“Life moves pretty fast; if you don’t stop and look around once in awhile, you might just miss it.” — Ferris Bueller
We’re living in an age of unprecedented connectivity — this both unites us and brings us closer while also challenging how we utilize our time and how present we can be. We’re increasingly seeing people looking down at our phones. There’s a rise in second screen experiences. We’re experiencing other people’s lives in realtime.
All this shifts our relationship to the real world. Our founder, Toby Daniels, elucidated on what our 2014 Global Theme really means and how we’re looking at “The Future of Now.” This includes not letting technology control us but putting ourselves in control of tech.
With event submissions opening up for SMW14 on October 10th, we want to ensure you’re fully acquainted with our vision for the next year. Learn more and start brainstorming how you can add your ideas for how we can collaborate better, connect better and master our digital lives. Submissions close December 6th – so don’t put it off too long.
