Social Media Week

Have you ever wanted to go straight to the source and ask a young person how they use Snapchat, Instagram, Facebook, and other social networks and apps? Well, we sat down with one 18-year-old at Social Media Week Chicago to find out.

21 days until 20,000+ global leaders come together for SMW November 14-18. Learn more here.

Ellen, an 18-year-old student and SMW Chicago panelist, sat down with us to share how her generation uses Instagram and Snapchat (the two most popular social networks among her age group), as well as a few thoughts on Facebook.

She says her friends are on Snapchat the entire day, and usually post around two or three times per week on Instagram. Ellen says Facebook feels more relevant for “middle-adults” and is useful for college and university students.
