Social Media Week

Another update to Instagram has arrived that makes it look a lot like Facebook. This time… notifications.

42 days until 20,000+ global leaders come together for SMW September 12-16. Learn more here.

Instagram released a new notification tab for it’s web interface that allows users to see who has followed them as well as Liked, commented, or tagged them in posts.

According to TechCrunch, you can access the notifications by logging into instagram.com and clicking on the blue circle with a white heart in the center. This will open up a drop down of your notifications.

Instagram still does not allow users to post photos and videos natively on the web (there are a few third party apps that allow you to), so we can’t say Instagram is becoming Facebook quite yet.

Although the recent news about Instagram’s algorithmic feed sounds a lot like Facebook.
