Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey announced late last week that the 140 character limit might not be expanded after all.
According to TechCrunch, Jack believes it’s still “a beautiful constraint that inspires creativity and brevity, consistent with its aim of strengthening its short and sweet and conversational communication platform.”
Twitter learns about user behavior each day, specifically from users taking screen shots of text and tweeting it out. “What if that text was actually text? Text that could be searched. Text that could be highlighted,” he says.
Jack Dorsey recently appeared on The Today Show with Matt Lauer to explain that while the character limit is staying, Dorsey affirmed, “we’re changing a lot. We’re always going to make Twitter better.”
