Instagram Launches Business Tools Offering New Profiles, Insights, and Promotion Abilities
After hundreds of interviews with businesses, Instagram is about to make it easier for businesses to stand out, get insights, and find new customers on the platform. And at #SMWLA, Instagram’s Director Of Market Operations, Jim Squires, will deliver the opening keynote.
We are excited to announce the first round of leaders who will bring our 2020 theme HUMAN.X to life at our global conference in New York on May 5-7.
Shortly after Instagram announced more analytics tools for marketers, they recently confirmed a suite of new business tools arriving on the platform boasting 400 million users.
Currently, there are 200,000 active advertisers on Instagram which include small and medium businesses. The new tools will allow marketers (at any shape and size organization) to reach more users with heightened visibility, audience insights, and more ways to gain new customers.
James Quarles, Instagram’s Global Head of Business and Brand Development said, “fifty percent of people follow a business on Instagram, and sixty percent learn about products and services on Instagram.”
New Profile Page for Business Tools
New business profiles will be free to set up and use, which allow users to easily find information about a business such as phone numbers and contact emails with the tap of a single “Contact” button. Users can also get directions to the address of a particular business (via Instagram).
For the new Instagram Insights, businesses will be able to track who they’re reaching and learn more about which types of content are most engaging. On top of demographics, this will help marketers better understand their audience, and the people that might be interested in their business or products.
Create Ads within Instagram
According to Instagram, “The ability to promote lets you turn well-performing posts into ads right within the app—helping you connect with even more customers. Simply pick a post you’ve already shared on Instagram and add a button encouraging people to take action. You can select a target audience or allow Instagram to suggest targeting for you. After that, your post will be promoted as an ad for any length of time you choose.”
The new tools will gradually be released across the U.S., Australia, and New Zealand, and worldwide by the end of the year.
Hear from Instagram’s Director Of Market Operations, Jim Squires, at Social Media Week in Los Angeles. In this opening keynote on Tuesday, June 7th, Jim will discuss the evolution of Instagram’s ad product and how brands are leveraging the platform to reach and engage its 400 million monthly active users.
