Social Media Week

Seriously, don’t mess with people who are wearing VR headsets. It can be pretty dangerous.

75 days until 20,000+ global leaders come together for SMW June Conference. Learn more.

Virtual reality is one of today’s most talked about subjects. The technology is starting to change so many industries, such as gaming, entertainment, medicine, journalism, real estate, shopping, travel, fitness, and much more.

If you’re new to VR, or don’t know what it looks and feels like to be in that situation, you can get a glimpse from the video below via VRScout, a VR-focused media company.

In the video, you get a few perspectives. One, what the VR user sees. Two, what she looks like in VR from a third party. And three, her real-life surroundings in a green screen, VR studio.

You’ll see in the video how scary it can look, but hey, at least you know you’re not actually in danger…. until someone pushes you. That comes as a surprise.

Fortunately, she appears to be fine, but please don’t do this to someone wearing a VR headset. It can actually be quite dangerous. Either way, take a look at what it feels like to walk a narrow, wooden plank suspended in the air.

Learn the latest trends, insights and best practices from the brightest minds in media and technology. Sign up for SMW Insider to watch full-length sessions from official Social Media Week conferences live and on-demand.
