It seems like everyone is trying to publish video content, especially on Facebook. Why? Well, because it seems to work. Facebook now clearly states that video is essential to its growth, and for marketers to be successful on the platform too.
Zuckerberg and the entire Facebook team see video as its future, from virtual reality and live video to news coverage and brand marketing. As Facebook is getting closer to two billion people on the platform, the amount of videos created, watched, and shared across Facebook will only increase, and brands must be prepared if they aren’t already.
At #SMWNYC, Michelle Klein (Marketing Director, North America, Facebook) explored the future of video in advertising, and how Facebook’s role will continue to evolve and help marketers reach consumers in new ways; from longer videos in the News Feed and autoplaying with sound, to new formats like Live 360° video and Facebook Stories.
