“The future of storytelling is user-generated.”

The entire world is creating content. With smartphones and video capture devices getting increasingly better, and cheaper, seemingly by the day, regular people are creating social native content and telling stories that resonate with millions.

At #SMWLA, Josh Entman (Co-Founder & Chief Development Officer, Jukin Media) spoke about how successful brands are re-thinking their marketing efforts and leveraging user-generated content to create more authentic and memorable campaigns.

Entman’s visual presentation went through a quick history of user-generated content. Starting with America’s Funniest Home Videos to today where over 400 hours of content is being uploaded to YouTube every minute. Jukin Media’s session provided lots of laughs generated by viral videos like ‘David After Dentist.’ Attendees also learned that Chewbacca Mom is still the most watched Facebook Live video of all-time.

Entman showed examples of brands such as Cheerios and Google using user-generated content for ad campaigns that resonated with their audiences.

Jukin Media also showed their extensive library of user-generated content and provided attendees a behind-the-scenes look at their content network.
