Meet Suzy: The Business Intelligence Tool for Time-Strapped Marketers

Market research has long been a core piece of brand and market strategy, with traditional focus groups slowly being replaced by more agile forms of capturing consumer insights over time—but how can brands today make their most informed decisions when the world seems to be changing at the speed of a tweet?
A newly launched marketing technology startup, called Suzy, has arrived to meet that demand. The company was founded by CEO Matt Britton, who pivoted a former influencer marketing platform to become a real-time business intelligence tool that’s already being used by dozens of Fortune 500 brands.
Suzy’s SaaS platform can fulfill a variety of day-to-day tasks such as testing ad campaigns, helping R&D teams make critical decisions—so more time and effort can go into the product development itself—and unlocking new insights that can extend beyond marketing into the heart of a business.
Britton described Suzy as a “business decision-making companion” in a recent Business Insider interview. “We ultimately want to be a cousin of Siri or Alexa,” he added, emphasizing that the true power of the platform resides with its always-on community of everyday consumers.
Suzy was in beta mode for roughly a year and formally launched at this year’s SXSW Interactive conference in Austin. Current brand partners include Netflix, Coca-Cola, Procter & Gamble, Johnson & Johnson, Citibank, Verizon, Nintendo, and Nestle.
Fashion company Kenneth Cole, for example, has utilized Suzy to make key decisions surrounding the materials being used as it builds its Spring 2019 shoe collection.
The hype hasn’t been isolated to brands alone. The company just announced that it has secured a $5 million seed round of funding led by the Foundry Group with additional investors including Tribeca Venture Partners, and The Durant Company, founded by NBA Star Kevin Durant and co-led with his business partner, Rick Kleiman.
