Refinery29 is taking its content to the immersive world. Today, the woman-focused digital media company is launching a new VR channel on Inception, a VR distribution platform,

Through the partnership, Inception will work with Refinery29 to deliver the company’s lifestyle content to its global audience of more than 500 million. Additionally, the launch of the channel brings Refinery29’s Innovation Studio VR29 to a global audience.

“VR provides a new avenue for Refinery29 to reach their large vast network base of young women,” said Benny Arbel, Inception CEO. “We are thrilled to be partnering with Refinery29, and we are looking forward to working together to bring their content to new platforms and communities.”

The channel launches today with its original series “Fashionably Bound,” which takes viewers on an immersive tour to some of the world’s best locations for street style stalking, starting with global destinations of Berlin and New Orleans.

“Refinery29 is a future-forward brand which prioritizes collaborative storytelling that inspires conversation through innovative narrative formats and top-tier technology,” said Stone Roberts, SVP, Global Video Strategy of Refinery29. “This partnership with Inception signals industry-wide progress in VR distribution and we’re excited to build new connections with them.”

Inception, which launched in October 2016, has apps for Oculus Rift, Samsung Gear, iOS, Android, Google Daydream, HTC Vive, and Microsoft MR, with Sony PS coming soon. So far the app has over 1 million downloads.
