Get ‘Closer’ to Social Media Week Nairobi
Social Media Week is a leading news platform and worldwide conference that curates and shares the best ideas and insights into social media and technology's impact on business, society, and culture.
In its third year, Social Media Week Nairobi (#SMWNairobi) brings together professionals with a curiosity and passion for new ideas, innovations and emerging trends in social media.
This year the theme is “Closer” and will explore the intensifying conflict between individualism and community.
SMW Nairobi will be held at Movenpick Hotel & Residences, Mkungu close, Westlands, Nairobi from 12th-15th June 2018. We spoke with the SMW Nairobi team about their upcoming event.
What do you think will be the most important attendee takeaways from your city’s SMW conference?
The latest trends in technology and digital from the market leaders: Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Meltwater, Google and other leading technology companies in Kenya.
What are some sessions that your team is excited about?
C-Suite Breakfast: We shall have the key market leaders having a discussion on Digital Technology Transformation or Digital Technology Free Fall. We shall have in attendance the Ministry of ICT in Kenya and key CEOs in Kenya.
SME Breakfast Session: We shall be able to educate SMEs on how to connect the dotted lines of Technology and Digital in to sales. This will be interesting as SMEs in Kenya have not been investing much in Digital and Technology.
Session by Manish Sardana, MD Squad Digital and Head of Digital Group M: He will be discussing on “Leveraging data and AI to grow Customer Lifetime Value”. They have developed an in house marketing automation platform called Optimus which is helping clients in Kenya get more revenues and at reduced costs across the lifetime of their customers.
How do your overall agenda tie into this year’s global theme?
“Closer” is the global theme and SMW Nairobi will be hosting sessions for all the market segments in Kenya from top to bottom. Our sessions will bring all Social Media Platforms in to one conference being the first of its kind in Africa.
Which partners or brands are you most excited to be working with this year?
Telkom Kenya, Safaricom and Citizen Digital/Viusasa. Citizen Digital are our Media partners and are heavily investing in Digital Media with their launch of their App Viusasa.
