Haikus & Images: Harnessing the power of Twitter to celebrate and promote Chicago

10:30 AM - 11:30 AM

How does one begin to celebrate Chicago? In my case, I came up with the #28chi hashtag. Each day I tweeted out a new photo from my travels, complete with a haiku. It was part of my work to promote my own brand and the unique destinations throughout the entire city. Along the way, I got the attention of Choose Chicago and other organizations and institutions that work in the areas of tourism, hospitality, and culture.

I’ll be talking about the genesis of this project, the ways it evolved over the 28 days, and how other groups and individuals might adopt such a similar strategy to craft unique content that is both compelling and dynamic.
