Content and Storytelling with Impact: The Art of Creating Video Content That is Substantive and Engaging

12:00 PM - 12:25 PM

Venue One: Main Stage 1034 W Randolph St Chicago IL 60607

In a world where “content is king” and everyone seems to be getting more and more of their news and information from social media, creating videos that stand out can be a big challenge. Creating content for social media means you are competing against your friends’ babies and grandma’s cat for time and placement in anyone’s feed. How do you breakthrough the noise, but still create content that matters?

ATTN: believes in informing people to make a social impact. Through compelling, issue-driven content, we strive to engender greater participation in communities, the political process and the world around us. But in order to do that, we have to balance our commitment to deliver on substance, while also balancing the art of production with metrics and analytics.

Matthew will discuss:

  • How content creators can turn complex, serious issues into authentic, digestible content with a singular message
  • How to create loyalty and trust on certain issues by leaning into a point of view and how that translates into engagement and shareability
  • How to use title cards and data to reinforce a concept and make video optimized for viewing without sound
  • How brands have an enormous opportunity to take a stand on issues to earn trust with a millennial audience
