Photographer, National Geographic
Seattle-based photographer Aaron Huey has shot more than 20 stories for National Geographic publications. He is a contributing photographer at National Geographic magazine and a contributing editor at National Geographic Traveler. His stories have included topics as diverse as hitchhiking the 6,000-mile Trans-Siberian highway to sharks in French Polynesia, and from Montana’s cowboys to trekking the Salcantay trail to Machu Picchu. His stories are a mix of extreme adventures (such as his 3,400-mile, 154-day solo walk across America) and intimate essays about unique cultures around the world, from the Georgian Caucasus to the Indian Reservations of the United States. Aaron’s work has also appeared in The New Yorker, Harper’s, the New York Times, Newsweek, Time, and Smithsonian.
