As CMO of Showtime Networks Inc., Donald Buckley oversees the network’s marketing, distribution and subscriber acquisition marketing partnerships, creative advertising and digital media divisions, including branding, promotions, media, CRM/analytics and operations for Showtime’s digital platform marketing, broadband, emerging platform initiatives and multiplatform content. He’s led marketing for powerhouse programming Homeland, Billions, Shameless, Ray Donovan, The Chi, from creator Lena Waithe, the award-winning Escape at Dannemora, from director Ben Stiller, and Black Monday, starring Don Cheadle, from producers Seth Rogen & Evan Goldberg. New series include City on a Hill, starring Kevin Bacon and Aldis Hodge, and Halo, based on the massively successful game. Desus & Meru, Showtime’s first late-night talk show, premiered on Feb. 21, 2019.
Buckley leads and built the cross-disciplinary marketing organization that launched Showtime’s OTT product in 2015, which has outpaced subscriber growth projections and is available on AppleTV, Roku, Amazon, Hulu, YouTube and many other device and streaming platforms.
He previously served as EVP, Program Marketing and Digital Services and joined SHOWTIME in April 2011 as Senior Vice President, Digital Services.
Buckley worked previously at Warner Bros. Pictures, founded its interactive marketing department, and was also a co-founder of Warner Bros. Online, now known as Warner Bros. Advanced Digital Services. Until 2008, Buckley served as Warner Bros.’ Senior Vice President, Interactive Marketing and was previously its Vice President, Theatrical Marketing. He also headed the company’s New York offices and was studio liaison to Time Warner Investments.
Buckley is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences and the Television Academy of Arts & Sciences.
