Crowdcentric Media: Director of Marketing

Crowdcentric’s mission is help people everywhere live better, work smarter and be more productive using technology. The organization is seeking a passionate and ambitious person to join its team in New York City as Director of Marketing.

Since 2010 we’ve been convening hundreds of thousands of people through global events and engaging millions online through the sharing of insights, trends and how-to-guides that help a growing audience understand social media’s impact on business, society and culture.

Role Description: Director of Marketing
This is a unique opportunity for someone who wants to gain experience working for an exciting and fast growing company in emerging media and technology.

The Director of Marketing is responsible for planning, development, and implementation of all of Crowdcentric’s marketing strategy and plans for each of its main properties including Crowdcentirc Media, BrainCandy and Social Media Week.

Reporting directly to the CEO, this role demands a candidate that is energetic, creative, entrepreneurial, and has an exceptional eye for detail. The position will be based New York City, but as a global role will include work in North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific, Latin America, and Africa.

Specific responsibilities include developing the strategy and plan:

  • Email Marketing
  • Paid Media
  • Communications & PR
  • Community Management
  • Data & Analytics
  • Content Marketing

Specific qualifications and skills required:

  • BS/BA in Marketing or Communications or related field
  • 2 years experience at director level or 5 years experience in a strategic marketing/communications or journalism role
  • Minimum of 2 years experience with data analysis and presentation
  • Ability to write/edit in a variety of writing styles, ability to draft materials on a wide range of topics, with strong editing and proofreading skills.
  • Experience with paid media and advertising
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage projects from inception through execution
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • A hunger to learn and ability to flourish in a dynamic, high-growth, entrepreneurial environment Entrepreneurial, self-starter with hands-on approach

Crowdcentric Media: Manager of Community and Content

The Role
This is a unique opportunity for someone who wants to gain experience working for an exciting and fast growing company in emerging media and technology.

The Manager of Community and Content is responsible for content creation, implementation and reporting for all of Crowdcentric’s marketing strategy and plans for each of its main properties including Crowdcentric Media, BrainCandy and SMW.news.

Reporting directly to the Director of Content, this role demands a candidate that is energetic, creative, entrepreneurial, and has an exceptional eye for detail. The position will be based New York City, but as a global role will include work in North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific, Latin America, and Africa.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Email Marketing – content creation, campaign execution and reporting
  • Social Media – content creation, strategy implementation and reporting
  • Communications & PR – executing graphic and copy deliverables on media and marketing partnerships
  • Community Management – own community communication on all social and email channels
  • Platform Management – update customer orders, post updates, manager customer profiles and conference data
  • Content Marketing – create and implement branded images, copy and standards across all social channels, facebook, website and partnerships

Specific qualifications and skills required:

  • BS/BA in Marketing or Communications or related field
  • 0-2 years experience in a role focused on creation, execution and reporting on social media or digital marketing
  • Ability to write/edit in a variety of writing styles, ability to draft materials on a wide range of topics, with strong editing and proofreading skills.
  • Experience with photoshop, illustrator or other image creation and manipulation tools
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to handle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Experience with analytics for email, social media and google analytics
  • Experience with Word Press and HTML a plus

Crowdcentric Media: Internship Program

The Role
Social Media Week is a leading news platform and worldwide conference that curates and shares the best ideas, innovations and insights into how social media and technology are changing business, society and culture around the world. We also reimagine how human connectivity and technology will come together to change the ways we live, work and create. Along with Social Media Week, our agency, Crowdcentric, creates experiential, editorial, and marketing programs on behalf of major brands and clients.

Editorial
Through SMW we cover news stories, emerging trends, entertainment, culture and the role of technology in human connectivity, and more This aspect of the role will require the person to research article ideas, find external articles to re-publish and write original content.

Marketing
Support the Marketing and Communications department with responsibilities and efforts such as creating newsletters, social media and content marketing, developing media partnerships, and reporting analytics and insights.

Sales and Sponsorship
Identify potential new business opportunities through research, client outreach, sales deck development, and partnership outreach. You’ll receive a behind-the-scenes look into how branded content and on-site conference activation deals are arranged, planned, and executed, both online and offline.

The Crowdcentric team operates in a nimble, lean, personable and highly collaborative way. We are looking for an individual who shares this ambition and our values. Requirements include:

  • Writing and editing articles around the media and technology industry
  • Experience with business development, sales decks and sponsorship materials
  • Knowledge of social media marketing, both with content and analytics
  • Familiarity with media and technology news, key players in the space, and Internet language
  • Someone who understands how content builds a loyal, organic audience.
  • Ability to brainstorm and identify sponsorship opportunities around existing and new business initiatives
  • Sense of (Internet) humor is a plus!
