5 Apps to Get Your Social on This Week!

Social Media Week

Social Media Week is a leading news platform and worldwide conference that curates and shares the best ideas and insights into social media and technology's impact on business, society, and culture.

The Social Media Week Lagos 2015 kicks off today. There are about 140 events to attract more than 10,000 people and engage hundreds of thousands online. Here are 5 mobile apps to facilitate the process of getting social as you network with people, share captured moments, and attempt to re-create the Oscar Selfie.

Twitter

This is most likely going to be the most active social network at social media week so you don’t want to be left out the action. Do check out these 5 tips to up your twitter game. It’d be better to approach using Twitter as a tool to engage than to publicise, so take the pains to find twitter handles and get the conversation going.

Instagram

A photo speaks more than a thousand words let alone 140 characters. Instagram is definitely going to be the go to place for photos during the social media week – ahead of Google+, Facebook, Pinterest (if anyone is even active on those). Here are 5 things you can do to work instagram like a pro this week.

Social Media Week App

Contrary to what you may think people are actually using the official event app to connect and engage via content and chats. This is definitely one good way for networking at the event and it comes with a schedule which really helps know what’s next. It’s available for download on Android, iOS, and Windows Phone here.

FrontBack

This was one of my favourites from last year and I’d be using it again. This cool app allows you take selfies along side your view. Yes, that’s 2-photos-in-one. Definitely one to use to share your expression at a speaker’s presentation or your lunch. The app allows you to share output to major social networks including Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, as well as save to gallery. It’s available on Android and iOS.

Candy Camera or VSCO Cam

Just in case you want to make your photos look more professional with cool effects then you should get one these apps. While I prefer VSCO cam, you may want to go with Candy Camera as that is easier to use, comes with a self of filters for selfie, and is better for fast-paced posting as you can set it as your default camera. If you however got more time on your hands you may want to give VSCO Cam a try.
