Forging Change Through Structured Conversation on Social Media will aim to give practical tips on how to lead or moderate a twitter monthly discussions or debates around topics and hashtags. With my experience in having successfully led discussions on sexual health and relationships for almost a year using the #FiestaDebate hashtag and many others such discussions, I will share my personal perspectives that have helped me in my endeavours to impact and make a real difference using structured conversations on social media.

Other discussion points to be tackled will be how to choose relevant social media account hosts, discussants, etc. We will also take a look at framing discussion questions, reaching out to target audience, how to keep the conversation centered around the topic etc. We will look at pre-discussion preparation and post-discussion actions as well.

I am deeply passionate about using social media for community development. Social media can be a main tool to push for behavioral change and and also be used to gain support for many volunteer-driven and charitable initiatives. I will share some experience in this regard too to enrich our discourse. So join me let us have a chat and find out more ways to develop our communities, countries and Africa through the power of social media.

At the end of the session, a link to the presentation will be shared. You are encouraged to live tweet from the session to share what you are learning from the session so others who can also benefit :).
