This international panel will be screened live to Social Media Week participants in Hamburg & Lagos! We will consider the importance of social media for the Creative Africa scene & the importance of the African perspective in the social media scene.
The platform FASHION AFRICA NOW connects and informs readers with Contemporary Creative Africa, sharing global stories and striking visuals from the continent and Diaspora. It’s about showing esthetics from an African perspective, celebrating the contemporary African design scene and promoting the African creative and African-inspired artists. With our platform FASHION AFRICA NOW we aim to create a dynamic space for public encounter and exchange.
VR CREATIVE AGENCY is an Agency based in Lagos, which focuses on Fashion PR and communication for Nigerian emerging brands. The aim is to promote Nigerian emerging brands to Africa and the world.
Together with influencers based in Hamburg and New York we will discuss the impact of social media for the creative industries. We will also look at the importance of representing diverse voices and African perspectives in media. The tech and creative scenes in Africa are hubs of entrepreneurship and innovation, it’s time for the rest of the World to wake up and take notice. There is a lot of untapped potential waiting in international collaborations, working together we can change the game.
FASHION AFRICA NOW founder, Beatrace Angut Oola, will be joined on the panel by public figure Alpha Dia, Editor Nussin Armbrust in Hamburg, Kukua Odoi of African Prints in Fashion in New York and in Lagos by Noble Chibuzor Igwe, founder of 360nobs, designer Mai Atafo and Funmi Fagbemi, founder of VR Creative Agency and local partner in Lagos.
