Tech, Citizens and Elections: How Technology Supports Free, Fair and Credible Elections

9:00 AM - 10:00 AM

Hosted by Enough is Enough Nigeria

Experience Stage Powered by Purple Water Corporation Road - Plot 5B VI Lagos

Elections are a learning process, and in Nigeria where democracy is relatively new, our learning curve is steep. The only way to learn is to look at what’s been done and ways to improve it. This session is especially important as attendees can weigh in as speakers give an overview of the forthcoming Presidential elections – what should work, what wouldn’t and the role of active citizens. Tech, Citizens & Elections: How Technology Supports Free, Fair & Credible Elections is a plenary session that will look at how technology can ensure free, fair and credible elections.

#SMWElections will be an hour long event with five (5) minutes presentations from each speaker and twenty (20) minutes for questions. The Canadian High Commissioner will speak briefly about their social media platforms.

We will Explore:

  1. How important is social media and technology in elections?
  2. What role are we to expect from technology in the forthcoming elections?
  3. How can citizens use technology to improve the outcome of elections?

TARGET AUDIENCE: Techies advocates, CSOs that work on good governance/public accountability and voter awareness. Interested citizens are also welcome.
