In its 9th year, Social Media Week London is one of the premiere digital media conferences in the region. The event brings together some of the industry’s leading brands and individuals at the intersection of entertainment, media, marketing and technology, including BuzzFeed, National Geographic, The Economist, Forbes, Blue State Digital, Edelman, Ogilvy, and Hootsuite.

 
 

What’s New in 2017?

London

September 12 – 15, 2017

In 2017, Crowdcentric, the global organizers of SMW, will focus on creating a content experience that provides attendees with new ideas, insights and best practices in media and technology again at the BFI (British Film Institute), which is deemed our HQ, for networking and collaboration throughout the week.

One featured stage plus a workshop experience allows all official programming to place at one, large facility. We also introduced our new digital SMW Insider subscription, which allows registered attendees to watch every official session live online and on-demand.

The Official Sessions (main stage + workshops) will take place from Sept 12 – 15, 2017 at our HQ (British Film Institute). There will also most likely be some independently organised event sessions on Monday Sept 11, 2017.

Where Does #SMWLDN Take Place?

BFI Southbank

The venue has a theater that holds up to 500 people, which means no long lines or sessions at capacity.

In addition, we’ll have co-working lounges where you can meet with colleagues or clients, connect to WiFi to get your normal work done, and space to relax as you enjoy the incredible sessions throughout the week. The aim this year is to provide attendees, speakers and partners with a much bigger stage and plenty of space to enjoy the entire week.

 

 

Travel & Accommodations

If you’re traveling from outside of London, we will have preferred hotel partners listed on our website in the coming weeks.

We also recommend Airbnb as one of the most affordable ways to spend a week in London during peak season.
