If you’re a community manager, healthcare professional, or you’re interested in the impact of social media on the healthcare sector, this event is for you. We will be hosting a panel discussion with short presentations from a renowned consultant, patient, ophthalmic surgeon and community manager from Diabetes UK. The session will be chaired by our CEO and will discuss whether social media helps to empower patients or if it causes unnecessary worry and concern.

By attending the event we hope that you will gain a deeper understanding of the pros and cons of social media in healthcare, the risks involved and the benefits. We will give you further insight from both the healthcare professional and patient. You can hear how other agencies and charities work with healthcare professionals to provide content to the patient and how they manage the relevant channels.

Following the session we hope you will join us for networking drinks.

Confirmed panelists are:

Charlie Grieve (chair), CEO at Brandcast Media

George Du Toit, Paediatric Allergy Consultant

Dr Sneh Khemka, LBC 97.3 FM’s resident doctor, Surgeon by background, Chief Operating Officer at Advanced Oncotherapy

Amy Burton, Digital Engagement Executive at Diabetes UK

Andrew Schorr, Founder and host of Patient Power, Author of The Web Savvy Patient
