Wimbledon as a location is all about tennis in an English garden. As a brand it is about quality, excellence and the heritage of The Championships. What is often overlooked is that Wimbledon continually innovates and adopts new technology to retain its position as the premier tennis tournament in the world. In 2014 that meant a significant emphasis on social media embedded into a broader digital strategy. Wimbledon’s investment in multiple social channels over the past two years saw them come into their own this summer.

Come to hear Alexandra Willis, Content and Communications Manager for the All England Lawn Tennis Club, discuss how the Club have gone about putting the team, content strategy and channels in place to maximise their share of voice on social during a congested summer of sport. Hear about the bespoke activiations and how they were designed to engage people wherever and whenever they wanted to engage.

You will also hear from Chris Thomas, part of the IBM Chief Technology Officer team for social media, talk about the solutions put in place to help provide insight into the global conversation – to inform the content on other channels but also to be part of the content.

Finally be part of a discussion about what business in general can learn from Wimbledon’s experience.
