It’s the year 2016, and more than ever before technology is showing more promise for the future especially in connecting tier 3 countries with the rest of the world. Studies show that “emerging markets (EM) have potential for accelerated mobile internet user growth. Furthermore, low penetration of fixed-line telephone and already vibrant mobile value-added services mean that for many EM users and SMEs, the internet will be mobile”. Having discussed details around this at our #SMWLagos event last year (http://bit.ly/1zSSoUJ) with the likes of Bastian Gotter (Partner, iROKO), Ebi Atawodi (GM, Uber Lagos) and Ayo Adegboye (VP, Schneider Electric), we now shift our attention to the place of technology in developing enterprise through collaboration. We explore in depth the ‘hidden force of technology’ especially when that ‘force is awakened’.
This year’s event – “When EARTH comes together: The place of technology in accelerating economic development”, will focus on the power of collaboration in the successful development of economies. We would also discuss how technology helps facilitate these global interactions that sometimes lead to phenomenal results like Ushaidi, The BRCK, ALA (Akon Lighting Africa) among many others. Similar to the National Enterprise Summit (www.nesummit.org), this event is also focused on areas like digital inclusion with a special emphasis on the financial services sector. Corporate professionals, entrepreneurs, freelancers and students are all welcome to participate.
Our speakers will come from a range of backgrounds and experiences and would speak to the theme from their unique perspectives thus bringing more light on how individuals in all circumstances can drive progress by actively engaging with various forms of technology. Everyone will get a clear strategy on how they can position themselves for this future with specific action points for themselves, because like it not “Winter is coming!” We look forward to seeing you there!
To your success,
The FFB UK Team!
