Cyber bullying, body image worries, sleep problems, feelings of anxiety – the list goes on. These are just some of the issues raised in the recent #StatusOfMind survey, which examined both the positive and negative effects of social media on young people’s health.
Much of the media coverage that followed the report’s publication positioned the blame firmly at the doors of the big social media companies, with the likes of Instagram and Snapchat being named and shamed as biggest culprits. Our panel will weigh up the pros and cons of whether or not social media is bad for our mental wellbeing and whether or not more should be done to safeguard our mental health online.
